Purpose of Scholarship
The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) scholarship recognizes high school student-athletes who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, and citizenship, and highlights the role of athletics in a studentโs education.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a Senior
- Meet at least 2 of the following:
- Minimum B+ average
- Ranked in the top 25% of class
- ACT score 24 or SAT score 1100 (Math + Reading)
- Participate in two sports for at least two years each
- Earn at least one varsity letter in each of two sports
- Complete the scholar/essay application
- Include a letter of recommendation from the school athletic administrator/director
- Ensure the athletic director is an NIAAA member and part of their state association
- Have the principal or athletic director sign the application to verify academic information
Awards
- MSSADA will award $500 each to the two Massachusetts winners.
