Purpose of Scholarship

The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) scholarship recognizes high school student-athletes who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, and citizenship, and highlights the role of athletics in a studentโ€™s education.


Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  1. Be a Senior
  2. Meet at least 2 of the following:
    • Minimum B+ average
    • Ranked in the top 25% of class
    • ACT score 24 or SAT score 1100 (Math + Reading)
  3. Participate in two sports for at least two years each
  4. Earn at least one varsity letter in each of two sports
  5. Complete the scholar/essay application
  6. Include a letter of recommendation from the school athletic administrator/director
  7. Ensure the athletic director is an NIAAA member and part of their state association
  8. Have the principal or athletic director sign the application to verify academic information
